You see someone dressed in nice
business attire on their iPad or smartphone. You see someone else counting money
to flaunt and there’s someone else who is eyeing you down blowing bubble gum. Your
phone is on 1% and you don’t have a charger.
You look around the waiting room for a clock. You spot it. It’s
stuck on a time that you know isn’t right. You walk up to the lady behind the
desk who’s facing a computer screen. She’s not paying you any attention.
You say, “Excuse me.”
She looks and purses her lips.
You ask, “How long will the doctor be?”
“Ugh, I don’t know. You have to wait just like everybody else.”
You get frustrated. So, frustrated after waiting for as long as you have that you walk to the door to leave. You pull on the doorknob and the door is locked.
You start to panic. You get angry. You might even keep pulling
on the doorknob just to ensure that you are not losing the rest of the patience that you had.
Now, I don’t know how the rest of this story would play out. I
know I would look for a window to jump out of. However, this is how easily situations
can leave us enraged. A lot of us do not like to wait.
Waiting for too long for
something that you could be expecting can test you. It’s best to not go all DMX
and lose your mind while your patience is being tested.
Here are three things to remember while you wait.
God gives purpose in the waiting.
“Therefore, my beloved
brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
God keeps His promises.
And we know that all things work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
God is always faithful.
[They are] new every
morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:23 (KJV)
I want to remind you that no matter where you are in life in
your waiting season that you are in God’s waiting room. He has not forgotten
about you. He has not written you off.
He knows that you are weary. He
understands that you feel left out, but he’s trying to get you to keep your faith
and trust in Him. Don’t place your desires into worldly possessions.
We all
enjoy having nice things, but do not place your happiness into them. Remain positive.
Do not talk yourself out of your blessings. Do not doubt God. Your breakthrough
is on the way. Your surroundings may be stressing you out. Your family or friends
may think that you are going crazy.
Let your patience be a part of your testimony!
My prayer for you at this very moment is that you do not lose your faith during
your wait.
